not to be confused with beverly hills, but the rodeo came to town this weekend. and i loved it. it smelled like horse poop & there were real cowboys & cowgirls everywhere. the rodeo is a big deal here & the whole town came out for the festivities. elle was supposed to ride a sheep in the muttin' bustin' contest but in the end she was a little frightened after watching all the other kids who rode, cried & got thrown off the furry little animals. bosten was happy as a clam eating funnel cake & watching the horses. and i was enamored, as always, over the rocky mountains that surround us here & how everything seems too beautiful to be real. and how we are living a simple life that is lovely & feels so right. giddy up, friends. |

sometimes couples stand in front of my camera and i am overwhelmed by how much they love each other. it happened just like that with suzy and rob. they stood in front of me with an absolute comfort that can't be forced, coached or performed. their love has all the ingredients that make life so wonderful to live together. rob is a us marine & recently returned from a deployment serving our country. suzy & rob have been married for a year and a half which made this love shoot even more special to photograph & i happen to think that everything about them is pretty lovely... |

betsy & chris were married in downtown charlotte & had a huge celebration with their family & friends! the party was rockin' much in part to the insanely awesome hip pocket band! seriously, everyone was on the dance floor at this wedding and had so much fun! betsy & chris went above and beyond to make sure their guests had an incredible evening with a balcony bar, lounge and all of their favorite foods created by the one and only la-tea-da's catering. everything was so delicious! the bride & groom made their grand exit whirling glow sticks in the air & were off to a honeymoon in maui! congratulations betsy & chris! |

i was soooo happy to get this lovely little family in front of my camera! hudson is the cutest thing & he was happy to play in the summer sun with his two favorite people in the whole world! lindsay and i go way back to the days of spirit week & prom :) and i'm happy that our friendship has made it's way all the way through husbands and babies! |

nine years ago i married a boy, my sugie, who i love with all my heart. we celebrated our sugiversary in the lovely town of breckenridge last night and had such a fun dinner on the river overlooking the snow-less ski slopes & spent the night at the coziest bed and breakfast! at this point in our 9 year marriage, there is nothing i love more than time together. to sit face to face and laugh & talk is all i need for a gift. ryan is the person i am most comfortable with in life. he's the one who tells me i'm such a little girl when i order a coffee drink from starbucks in a bigger cup so i can get more whipped cream. he's the one i smile at as i watch our two year old run towards him as fast as his little legs will go. he's the one i love to do nothing with. he's the one i love to tell everything. i literally was a little girl when we got married & i have loved nothing more than growing up beside him. i cannot imagine my life without ryan, my sugie, my best friend. he's the one who doesn't understand facebook but can know in an instant if i am upset just by looking at my face. he values the little things, always puts us first & is my biggest cheerleader. and all i can think is how lucky i am that he is mine... |
