goin' on a bear hunt: greensboro photographer

this wild & crazy session was sung to the tune of goin' on a bear hunt as we sloshed our way through mud and rain water from the non stop downpours this week! i had so much fun shooting in greensboro this weekend and will be posting a date for more upcoming sessions, shortly. couldn't get enough of this family's adventure and outrageous love for one another. *sigh*....i definitely have the best job ever :) thanks stacy and for allowing me to capture your family with mud on your jeans and no shirts on your boys. i hope these photos will always bring you back to these days of being carefree and joyful!

you'll be seeing lots of these munchkins on the smitten photography blog because this family welcomed baby number three last weekend! they are doing a watch me grow series, which i LOVE, since i get to watch babies grow up in front of my camera :) you may remember molly & myles from a session last month where skittles rained down on them. well, today, we had actual rain - raining down on them but it didn't stop us from getting some amazing photographs! hope you enjoy my favorites...

a perfect day set this session up for awesomeness. truly, i get more and more impressed at my clients impressive styling abilities! like i've said before, great styling really does make a big difference in photographs & corrie gets the award of the month considering she whipped together her daughters outfit from SCRATCH at the last minute because she changed her mind on what she should wear. yes, people, she sewed this and i swear she could sell it in a kids boutique anywhere in the country! hold your breath & indulge in some scrumpiousness below...

little charmer.

this 6 week old cutie was quite the charmer during his photo session! he never made a peep, gave me sweet eyes & melted in his mommy and daddy's arms when they held him. the new ones are so tiny and wrinkly...i love it :)

heartfelt thanks.

i simply cannot thank you all enough for the outpouring of love, prayer & encouragement that we have received over the past few days for our little man.
its funny how the internet, as big & emotionless as it may seem, can bring people together in ways that would not be possible, otherwise. i just wanted to give an update...and unfortunately, we still don't know much :)
bosten had a procedure done on thursday to explore the inside of his body & remove tissue for testing. it was a surreal experience for us, as parents, talking to anesthesiologists, doctors & nurses...signing blood transfusion allowance & permission to execute any emergent situation...all for our tiny baby. but, we have been covered in prayer & really trust our doctors & believe that we are on our way to finally getting some answers.
they found two things on thursday that will be looked at on monday with another procedure at the hospital. both of them are non life-threatening & can be fixed with surgery if they are confirmed. there are still other components to bosten being sick that are more serious and we are still awaiting testing for those. this is more of a waiting game right now - as we know there are issues to be dealt with & we want the utmost care and concern to be taken as doctors care for our son.
i have been emotionally drained, yet i am very hopeful. i know that no matter what, god is in control. thank you again for all of the well-wishes & i will definitely keep updating the situation as we know more. we are home today & are glad to enjoy this beautiful day!

its funny how photography has meant so many different things to me in my lifetime. it started as a hobby, a way to capture fun moments of myself and my friends growing up. then, it turned into a passion, a desire to pursue the art as a dream, and i began to capture real moments for couples and family's. and still, it morphs into an outlet for me, a way to find joy and beauty in little things. i can escape through the lens of my camera & it can also bring me back to reality.

i can't help but smile when i look at this picture of bosten in this tiny hospital gown! he has no clue what is going on right now & i just want to be able to look back on this time in our lives and tell him that our family was united through this trial, that we never stopped giving thanks & that we have grasped how wide & long & high & deep is the love of christ.
