i had the best thrift store find of my life when i stumbled upon a mint condition polaroid sx-70 land camera for $20. in the bag i found more treats like a zoom lens attachment, off camera flash & old school instruction manuals. i would like to thank the owner of this camera for donating this little gem & you need not worry because i will put the camera to good use :) summer is almost here in colorado...

i love, love photographing bridal portraits! it is such a southern tradition and now that i live out west i guess i am going to have to convince people that it is cool to put on your wedding dress and prance around a field looking beautiful :) betsy was a delight to my camera & i loved getting a glimpse of the excitement she has & can't wait for her wedding in june! i love the simplicity of these photos & i majorly love betsy's dress. oh, and i would personally like to thank the sun for being awesome. enjoy :)

i can't tell you how excited i was to get to hang out with jacob & emily for their engagement session! jacob got us some exclusive access to the old carolina theatre in charlotte & we were in pure heaven walking around the abandoned building full of character. these two brought along their lovable dog, bruno, a german-speaking rottweiler. seriously, the best dog EVER. can't wait for their wedding in september which is sure to be fabulous as they are working with alyse from alyse woodward events! happy wednesday!

ich liebe bruno :)

brittany & nathan . a true love story

theirs is a love worth waiting for. theirs is the kind of love that aches, that challenges, that pursues. theirs is a true love story.
brittany & nathan were chosen as the winners of this years smitten love story contest. nathan's heartfelt love and adoration to brittany was felt by so many readers as they poured over the story he thoughtfully submitted. i will never forget reading the email from brittany when she found out they won the contest...

OH MY GOSH DUDE I AM FREAKING OUT RUNNING AROUND MY HOUSE SCREAMING, CRYING, AND JUMPING FOR JOY !!!!!
thank you so much for having this competition! This gave me the chance to have my DREAM PHOTOGRAPHER!!!!!
thank you thank you thank you

little did i know how much i would fall in love with brit and nathan on their wedding day. there was so much joy surrounding this couple & it was clear from the moment brittany walked down the aisle at the beautiful whitestone inn that every guest felt the same sense of anticipation as they did. their day was finally here. brittany jumped for joy & her smile was so great she looked as though she was going to burst with happiness. in that moment i selfishly thought to myself how blessed i was to get to be there to capture it all. i don't think i will ever take for granted how sacred love is & how a wedding is about so much more than cake and flowers. it is about two people who walk into the day as individuals and leave as one. and for brittany and nathan, the most important details of their wedding were found in the times they looked into each others eyes and said yes to choosing love. they said yes to finishing sentences and not leaving when things get hard. they said yes to laughing until they cry, to be the others best friend, to saying i'm sorry, to being on the home team. and really, when the day was said and done, i was the winner for getting see all of these moments unfold. brit and nathan, thank you for giving me the chance to photograph my dream couple. i wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
