i am so overwhelmed with inspiration from the last week that i don't even know where to start this post! i had a gut feeling that jose villa's workshop would be a perfect fit for me and it was in more ways than i ever imagined. when i stepped foot on the grounds at the 300 year old hacienda el carmen i looked around and breathed deep all of the rich colors, textures & little nooks and crannies that made this location so unique. i'm not joking that this place was something out of my dreams. brick exposed walls, crumbling stone walkways & miniature doorways. we were given 5 star service by the staff who helped to ensure that our creativity was overflowing with goodness the whole week!

jose brought along a team of unreal talented friends to add areas of expertise to the workshop. i'd like to personally thank every one of these amazing people for sharing a week of laughter and learning with me:

claire pettiebone - claire pettiebone wedding gowns
team hair and makeup - mar from teamhairandmakeup
jill la fleur - wedding planner extraordinaire
matthew johns - insanely amazing styling
jessica claire - california wedding photographer
jose villa workshops - jose villa
head pieces for wedding gowns - etsy headpieces
joel serrato films - breathtaking wedding cinematography

also, big hugs and thanks to lacie who helped make the entire week run smoothly and brightened every day with her warm smiles. oh my lord, lacie, you rock :)

i think one of the biggest things i realized at this workshop is how important it is to continuously be inspired as an artist. that can happen in so many ways and doesn't have to require a trip around the country but i will be much more intentional about keeping my mind and heart refreshed in ways that can be poured into my business from the overflow of my personal joys. here are some of my favorites from the trip...it makes me teary just looking at these and remembering the clean fruity smell of the air in the mornings...
